Croninger to celebrate Four Star School status

(March 14, 2011) – Croninger Elementary School will celebrate being named a Four Star Schools for the 2009-10 school year during lunch Wednesday, March 16.

Schools are awarded the designation if they are among the top 25 percent of schools in the state, based on ISTEP+ results and meeting the federal requirements to achieve Adequate Yearly Progress. Statewide, 188 public schools and 13 private schools were named Four Star schools. This is the fifth consecutive year Croninger has earned the designation.

“The Croninger community has worked hard over the years to earn and maintain this honor,” Principal Rebecca Dennis said. “The teachers and staff work in close cooperation with parents to make sure every child’s individual learning needs are met. This is an ongoing process and a collaborative team effort that produces high quality results.”

On Wednesday, teachers will play the role of DJs playing some fun dance music from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and students will be given a treat.
