Press release from the City of Fort Wayne:

City/County Go Back to Level 2 Snow Warning
Residents Should Still Use Caution

At this hour (11:14 am), the City of Fort Wayne and Allen County we remain under a Level 1 Snow Emergency – which means only emergency vehicles can be out on our streets. This declaration will remain in effect for the next hour.

However at noon today, we will be going back to a Level 2 snow warning. Under the Level 2 warning, we ask that motorists use caution and only travel for essential trips. Level 2 is for emergencies and trips to and from work and places like the pharmacy and doctor.

The blizzard conditions are continuing to effect our community and we urge residents to not travel unless absolutely necessary.

Our 311 Call Center will remain open through the rest of the day. This afternoon we will evaluate the need for extended hours.

City Crews will continue plowing throughout the day and will be hitting the side streets all afternoon. We will also keep City offices closed today and are asking employees to remain home.

City staff should report to work tomorrow and we will be open for business.
