Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne Seeking Grant Applicants for Neighborhood Art Initiative

(January 31, 2011) – Applications are now available for grants that fund events and projects that provide arts experiences that positively affect neighborhoods. The Neighborhood Grant Initiative is funded and administered by Arts United. Our Vision is…to enrich the community by uniting and inspiring all people through the arts.

The Neighborhood Grant Initiative enables the arts to reach more people in neighborhoods, both in Fort Wayne and in the ten counties served by Arts United, expanding the outreach of the previously funded Community Partnership Grant program.

Grants of between $1000 and $3000 will be awarded to qualified nonprofit organizations. The application process consists of several steps, which are outlined in the Grant Guidelines and Concept Paper Instructions, available for download at The deadline for submission of a concept paper is March 18, 2011.

Qualified Applicants:

  1. Organization is a 501(c)3 nonprofit or has a fiscal agent with that classification.
  2. New applicant organizations will be given priority in funding.
  3. Organization is a registered nonprofit in one of our Regional Arts Partner counties: Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Miami, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley or has a fiscal sponsor in one of the eligible counties.
  4. Religious organizations with 501(c)3 classification may apply for projects only of a secular nature.
