.AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE ACROSS WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH OFF TO THE EAST THIS AFTERNOON. AS THIS OCCURS…LIGHT SNOW WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH ACROSS THE REGION WITH AN ADDITIONAL INCH OR TWO OF ACCUMULATION. SOME GREATER ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTHWEST INDIANA INTO EXTREME SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN DUE TO LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS. THESE SNOW SHOWERS MAY PRODUCE SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR FOR A SHORT TIME AS THEY MOVE FROM WEST TO EAST ACROSS FAR NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL INDIANA. TOTAL ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 4 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS THESE LAKE EFFECT PRONE LOCATIONS THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY THIS EVENING. WINDS HAVE SUBSIDED SINCE LAST NIGHT…BUT NORTHWEST WINDS WILL LIKELY BECOME GUSTY TO 25 MPH LATE THIS MORNING INTO EARLY AFTERNOON THAT WILL RESULT IN SOME CONTINUED BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW…ESPECIALLY IN RURAL OPEN AREAS. ALTHOUGH CONDITIONS HAVE IMPROVED ACROSS THE AREA…MANY ROADS REMAIN TREACHEROUS AND IMPASSIBLE IN MANY LOCATIONS.
