Stutzman comments on Virginia Court Ruling

Press release from Indiana 3rd Congressional District Congressman Marlin Stutzman’s office:

Stutzman Comments on Virginia Court Ruling

Congressman Marlin Stutzman commented on the Virginia court ruling. “Today’s Federal Court ruling is step in the right direction and a win for the Constitution. I agree with the court when it states unequivocally that Congress’s effort to mandate that every individual purchase health insurance under the recent Health Care Reform Act is grossly unconstitutional.”

” While this is only one step in reducing the harmful impact of Obamacare,” Stutzman said “I believe this is an important win for those who believe in the letter of the Constitution and its ability to protect against government overreach into our private lives.”

“It is my hope that given the critical nature of this section to the financial viability of the Obamacare that the viability of the entire healthcare reform bill comes into question.” It will be important for both the Federal Courts and the Congress to ‘Check and Balance’ Obamacare as the pieces of the legislation become law.

“This was unconstitutional, and I am pleased the court agrees.”

Congressman Stutzman represents the 3rd Congressional District of Indiana. The 3rd District contains all of Dekalb, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley counties; as well as parts of Allen and Elkhart counties.
