The TinCaps ‘blanked’ the Great Lakes Loons, 1-0 last night.

A titanic home run by Everett Williams and a shutout led by RHP Matt Lollis propelled the TinCaps to a 1-0 win over the Great Lakes Loons, Wednesday at Parkview Field.
With the win, Fort Wayne takes a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three playoff series.
[…] Williams came up with one out in the fifth inning and hammered a 1-0 pitch well over the right-field wall to give the TinCaps the lead. Fort Wayne loaded the bases later in the inning on a trio of walks, but RHP Allen Webster worked out of trouble to keep it a one-run game.
The TinCaps threatened again in the sixth thanks to a leadoff double from Edinson Rincon, but failed to score. Great Lakes squandered a chance in the top of the seventh with two on and one out.
[…] Fort Wayne’s record improved to 78-63 for the season. The Loons fell to 90-50 for the year.
