Press release from the City of Fort Wayne:

Dupont at State Road 3/Lima Road intersection to reopen today
Wallen approach remains under construction

Dupont Road immediately west of the Lima Road intersection is scheduled to reopen today at 6 p.m. Crews have completed installation of storm sewers and repaving of the intersection.

The Indiana Department of Transportation Fort Wayne District expects Wallen Road between Lima Road and Rummel Avenue to reopen the week of Aug. 23, weather permitting. Crews are reconstructing the west approach.

Access is available for Village Drive from Wallen and adjacent businesses. Prairie Lane will continue to have access from Lima Road. Residential access will be maintained to homes adjacent to the work area on Wallen.

Because of the closure of Cook Road, drivers may want to use Huguenard and Till roads as an alternate route for Wallen.

These closures have been part of INDOT’s project to add travel lanes on Lima Road/S.R. 3, between Ludwig Road to Dupont Road.

The 2.88-mile added travel lanes project includes three northbound and three southbound lanes, raised center curb median separating opposing traffic, curb/gutter, closed drainage system, inlets, sewer pipes, and 8-foot-wide multi path on both sides. Project will be complete in 2011.

All closures are weather permitting.
