‘Unwind’ weekly music event returns for summer
Unwind, a weekly event for ambient, downtempo and nujazz music, returns to the patio at CS3 for the 2010 summer.
Join residents Adejai (aka Josh Helton), Josh Elias, Nofi (aka Jeffrey Melton) along with special guests every Friday this summer from 8 p.m. until Midnight or later on the patio at CS3: Calhoun Street Soups, Salads, and Spirits.
“We’re pushing the boundaries of electronic music and your mind, each week,” said Josh Helton, who performs under the name Adejai and started the Unwind series of weekly events.
“The electronic scene in Fort Wayne has blown-up over the past few years, and I think that Unwind is one more way to get people interested in what we’re doing as artists,” said Josh Elias. “People from all different musical backgrounds and tastes will be able to appreciate the diverse selection of music we are going to be playing. Nujazz is a great genre to play to get people who, in any other setting, would probably not listen to electronic music. It has elements of traditional jazz but with more of an upbeat vibe with electronic elements mixed in. ”
“I’m excited to be contributing to Unwind this year,” said Jeffrey Melton, who performs original electronic music under the name Nofi. “My live sessions are a mashup of improvised ambient, downtempo, dub, glitch, minimal techno and synth music. Unwind is an important series, and the patio at CS3 is a great setting for experiencing each of our approaches to music.”
