From Parks and Recreation:

The Blue River Big Band—Foellinger Theatre, Friday, June 26th, 8 pm, FREE. The Blue River Big Band has a unique mix of a healthy portion of time-tested swing favorites, along with a sprinkling of newer music such as jazz, rock, and Latin charts. The band will have something for everyone. For more information, call the theatre box office at 427-6715.

Discovery Corner: Butterflies and Moths—Botanical Conservatory, June 27th, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. Our youngest visitors are always welcome to visit the Discovery Corner behind Woody the Talking Tree where they’ll find stories and activities relating to a monthly theme – but now there’s something new. On the fourth Saturday, our volunteers staff a special table for kids with crafts in that month’s theme suitable for pre-K through 1st grade. The table activities are free with general admission and pre-registration is not required. While you’re there, visit Butterflies: A Bug’s Eye View. The showcase will continue until July 5th. Sponsored by 97.3 WMEE, the Wilson Foundation, and the Schneider Foundation. For more information, call 427-6440 or visit www.botanicalconservatory.org.

Memories of the King: Brent Cooper—Foellinger Theatre, Saturday, June 27th, 8 pm, $4. Brent Cooper returns this summer with his tribute to the “King.” Cooper brings back all the excitement, looks, sounds and electricity of a live Elvis concert. Sponsored by 102.9 The River.

For more information, please call the Parks and Recreation Department at 427-6000 or visit them on-line.
