Germanfest events continue today.  The Bier tent opens tomorrow at Headwaters Park.    Visit the official Germanfest website for more detailed information.

11:00 AM – Brown Bag on Barr at the Barr Street Marketplace at 302 E Berry St
Bring your brown bag lunch and join the Fort Wayne History Center under the trees at the Barr Street Market. A wonderful place to get together, eat lunch, and enjoy the sites and sounds of downtown Fort Wayne. Tables provided. Music provided by Hearthstone Ensemble.

12:15 PM – Germanfest Organ Concert at the Zion Lutheran Church at 2313 Hanna St
Featuring Michael Hollman (Director of Music and Organist) performing German masterworks for organ. Sponsored by the Fort Wayne Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. (Link)

1:00 PM – Recollections of a Hamburger at the Fort Wayne History Center at 302 E Berry St
Author Cristel Behnke Gehlert , Fort Wayne resident & retired teacher of German intercultural communications, presents a lecture and book signing in the Freimann Room. Growing up after WWII, Gehlert will share her experiences of living in war-ravaged Hamburg, Germany.

6:00PM – Bitburgerabend at the Fort Wayne Sports Club at 3102 Ardmore Ave
Join the Fort Wayne Sport Club in a Germanfest tradition: Bitburger Night. Enjoy Bitburger beer from Germany as well as live musical entertainment.

7:00PM – German Lecture & Slide Show at the Community Center at 233 W Main St
Mr. Kris Kallmeyer, German teacher at Northrop High School, two time Fulbright exchange teacher to Germany, NEH and Lilly Fellow, will present an hour-long lecture with slides about the German education system. There will be a question and answer session immediately following. Refreshments will be served.
