Press release from the City of Fort Wayne:
Fort Wayne Residents have until Wednesday to complete Downtown Design Survey
City received more than 425 responses to date
Fort Wayne residents have a little less than a week to complete the City’s downtown design survey available online.
The deadline to complete the survey is Wednesday, Nov. 4.
Respondents rate preferences downtown design elements such as signage, lighting and facades through evaluating photographs, many of which are Fort Wayne structures and streetscapes.
A cross-functional internal City team has been working on an update to downtown design standards and guidelines at the direction of City Council. An advisory group made up of external stakeholders is also assisting in the project.
The downtown design standards project will include an amendment to the City’s zoning ordinance and the creation of a comprehensive downtown design manual, which will provide design direction and guidance to architects, property owners and developers as well as assist staff and the Plan Commission in reviewing new development and redevelopment projects in downtown Fort Wayne.
