Allen County Government press release:
O’Day Voted Top Assessor in Indiana by Peers
Allen County Assessor Stacey O’Day has been honored for her work by her peers throughout Indiana.
O’Day was voted the state’s 2009 County Assessor of the Year at last week’s summer conference of the Indiana County Assessors Association in Indianapolis. O’Day was one of six assessors nominated for the award.
“It is always an honor to be recognized by your peers when there are so many good assessors in the state of Indiana,” O’Day said. “It is really an accolade for our entire office.”
One of O’Day’s priorities for her office has been meeting assessment deadlines so tax bills could be sent out on schedule. “When I was elected and took office in 2007, we were nine months behind in the assessment cycle,” she said. “In just two and a-half years, we made up that time and are now on schedule for on-time tax billing.”
Along with her work in Allen County, O’Day was also recognized for her service on the ICAA’s legislative committee and her testimony before the state legislature on matters involving assessors. She was recently elected to a two-year term as First Vice President for the ICAA.
