Press release from the TinCaps:
TinCaps partner with Tools for Schools and Salvation Army
Parkview Field will be collection spot for school supply donations during TinCaps games on Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16
The Salvation Army Tools for Schools program will be collecting donations at Parkview Field this weekend during the Fort Wayne TinCaps game on Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16.
Over 1,400 children have registered for the Tools for Schools program, looking for assistance so they can be prepared for the 2009-2010 school year. The TinCaps have partnered with the Salvation Army to help collect backpacks, notebooks, crayons, pencils, and other supplies to help these kids K-12 be prepared for this school year. Cash donations can be made to the Salvation Army by contacting them directly.
School supply collection bins will be located just inside both the South and North entrances to Parkview Field this weekend. Fans are encouraged to bring school supplies to donate for these families that do not have the means to properly prepare their children for the coming academic year.
