TinCaps Continue to Cruise at Home
Fort Wayne stays perfect at home with 10-3 win over South Bend

(April 15, 2016) — The TinCaps continued their home cooking of opponents this season with a 10-3 win over South Bend on Friday night at Parkview Field.
Fort Wayne (6-3) won its third consecutive game and improved to 4-0 at home, toppling the Cubs (4-4) in the second matchup of the four-game series.
The TinCaps struck first with a pair of runs in the second inning, exploded for a five-run fifth and tacked on three more in the seventh.
Shortstop Peter Van Gansen (2-for-4, one run, one RBI), center fielder Michael Gettys (2-for-5, one run, one double, one RBI), catcher Austin Allen (2-for-4, two runs, one RBI, one walk) and right fielder Luis Tejada (2-for-3, three runs, one double, two RBI) all recorded multi-hit nights.
Fort Wayne starter Jacob Nix tossed three innings of one-run ball and allowed just two hits, while lefty Logan Allen followed with three one-run innings of his own to go along with four strikeouts. Southpaw Will Headean worked the final three frames and surrendered just one run.
Second baseman Daniel Bravo, who was just added to the roster earlier Friday, started the scoring with a two-run single in his first at-bat in the second inning. Gettys supplied an RBI double in the fifth, and designated hitter Kodie Tidwell unleashed a three-run double to right field later in the stanza.
Tejada, who tallied four hits and five RBI in Thursday’s win, supplied a two-run double in the seventh, as the TinCaps rolled.
