News rlease from the Three Rivers Festival:
2015 Lutheran Health Network Three Rivers Festival Parade Alters Course
(June 26, 2015) – Due to ongoing projects to improve downtown Fort Wayne, the 47th annual Lutheran Health Network Three Rivers Festival parade has altered its course this year.
The parade will begin at the corner of Wayne Street and Rockhill Street, travel east on Wayne Street, turn North on Fairfield for one block, then turn East on Berry. Please note that due to the Emerald Skyline project at the corner of Berry and Harrison Street, there will be a narrow passage for the parade. This area may not be the best location for spectators, however, there will be plenty of places along the route with optimal viewing for families to enjoy the parade. Finally, the parade will turn North on S. Calhoun and end at Superior.
“This year’s parade will continue to excite and dazzle attendees and be a great start to the 47th Three Rivers Festival,” states Jack Hammer, Executive Director of the Three Rivers Festival. We want to remind all parade attendees for the safety of yourself, your children and the people in the parade, please do not enter the parade route at any time. Please make sure children sitting on the curbs do not extend their legs into the road while enjoying the parade.
The Lutheran Health Network Parade, which is touted as the kickoff to the festival, takes place on Saturday, July 11 at 10a.m. Prior to the start of the parade, a pre-Parade unit made up of area police, fire and rescue responders will travel the route. Each year, more than 50,000 people line the streets of downtown Fort Wayne to see the floats, hear the bands and to celebrate our community at the Lutheran Health Network Parade.
