Mad Ants Take Down Warriors in Tight Game
(January 6, 2015) – The Mad Ants, sponsored by Lutheran Health Network, took an early command to squeeze out a tight 93-91 victory over the Santa Cruz Warriors Tuesday, January 6th at Allen Co. War Memorial Coliseum.
It was a night that started focused on the return of former Ohio State Buckeye Aaron Craft, but the Mad Ants quickly made a statement to take control of the game’s focus. With 17 first half points and 4 rebounds, Andre Emmett lead the team to a 46-35 half time lead. James Michael McAdoo lead the Warriors with 13 points at the half.
Fort Wayne remained dominant through the early part of the second half before the Warriors pushed them to a one point deficit with just over three minutes remaining in the game. A dunk by Dahntay Jones put an end to the Warriors’ night and sealed the victory for the Mad Ants. Emmett would lead the team with 33 points and 6 rebounds, while Gary Talton recroded 19 points and 7 assists. CJ Fair grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the team in that respective category.
For the Warriors, McAdoo led the team with 25 points and 13 rebounds on the night. Mychel Thompson recorded 21 points.
The Mad Ants will be back in action for an easy coast trip Friday January 9th at Westchester with a 7:00 p.m. tip and Saturday January 10th at Delaware with a 7:00 p.m. tip.
