Mother’s Day Plant Sale
McMillen Ice Arena, 3901 Abbott Street
(May 8, 2013) – The three-day plant extravaganza at the McMillen Ice Arena will once again take place over Mother’s Day weekend. The Botanical Conservatory is offering approximately 600 kinds of plants for purchase. There will be herbs, tomatoes and other vegetable plants, along with annual and perennial flowers and foliage plants, tropical plants for indoors or out, color bowls, mixed containers, and hanging baskets. On Saturday, there will be a special line-up of demonstration tables and knowledgeable presenters to help beginners and do-it-yourself gardeners. Topics include butterfly gardening, shade gardening and composting. This is the place for any level of gardener to bring their questions. The plant sale is a fundraiser for the Botanical Conservatory to support its public programs. Volunteers will be on hand to assist in plant selection and loading. Plenty of free parking!
