News release from the Eric Doden for Mayor campaign:

Fund-raising success shows continued momentum for Doden
Raises more than $140,000 in Q1 2011

(April 15, 2011) – Eric Doden’s campaign for the Republican nomination for Fort Wayne Mayor continues to gain momentum, raising more than $143,000 in 2011’s first three months. Combined with its totals from the final three months of 2010, the campaign has now raised more than $250,000 total.

“Having spent my career in business, not politics, I was unprepared for, and am greatly humbled by, the strong outpouring of support for our campaign vision,” Doden said. “People who believe in Fort Wayne’s future are supporting our campaign because they are ready for a new kind of leadership, one with executive experience creating jobs, balancing budgets and inspiring people to success. I’ll work tirelessly to live up to their trust and belief in my vision for making Fort Wayne great once again.”

“In the final weeks of this primary campaign, it is clear that we will have the resources necessary to communicate my plan to create jobs and grow Fort Wayne’s economy directly with voters across the city,” Doden added. “After personally knocking on more than one thousand doors and this strong fundraising support, it is evident that the momentum in this race is with our campaign. People know Fort Wayne can and should do better, and this support indicates their belief I’m the candidate best suited to get us there.”
