Press release from SweetCars:
SweetCars Grand Opening Slated for December 11
Public/Private Partnership Reclaims Abandoned Dealership
(December 7, 2010) – The region’s first luxury pre-owned car dealership, SweetCars, will have its public Grand Opening on Saturday, December 11, from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. A ribbon cutting, featuring Mayor Tom Henry and other city officials, will take place on Wednesday, December 8 at 3:30 P.M.
Located at 2404 West Jefferson Boulevard in Fort Wayne, SweetCars features a state-of-the-art showroom and comfortable lounge. In addition to maintaining a diverse inventory of premium, exotic, and everyday luxury vehicles, the dealership emphasizes customer service, offering a range of products and services that address every aspect of the buying, selling, and ownership experience.
SweetCars also represents an extremely successful public-private partnership. The city of Fort Wayne’s Redevelopment Commission purchased the long-abandoned Dimension Ford property in 2008. Most of the property has since been deeded over to the parks department, with Sweetwater founder and president Chuck Surack offering to take the remaining property and invest more than $300,000 in a car dealership. The partnership will result in keeping the property on the tax rolls and will generate no fewer than five full-time and additional part-time jobs.
Surack said, “I’ve had plans for a dealership of this kind for several years and considered a number of potential sites. I’m delighted that the new SweetCars dealership will also make a contribution to the city by helping to reclaim an abandoned commercial site at the gateway to downtown.”
At the Grand Opening on Saturday, December 11, SweetCars will have more than 30 cars on display, including models from BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Lotus, Lamborghini, Jaguar, Ferrari, Bentley, Acura, and others. All vehicles are available immediately for sale and are featured on the SweetCars website at SweeCars.com (www.sweetcars.com).
General Manager Drew Tynan leads the team at SweetCars. A life-long “car guy” with over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, Drew brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to SweetCars.

SweetCars encourages enthusiasts to stay for a while — while waiting or on a lunch break or free afternoon — and enjoy free refreshments, free Wi-Fi , television, and an active community of car enthusiasts.
Another way SweetCars will help strengthen the car community in the region is through its open and active car club, which will meet regularly for breakfast and coffee on Saturdays starting in February. Car enthusiasts are encouraged to come to any and all meetings, no matter what car they drive. More information on the car club and upcoming meetings can be found online at the SweetCars website (SweetCars.com) or by subscribing to Shift, the SweetCars e-mail newsletter. The e-mail newsletter will also feature spotlights on inventory and articles on topics of interest for enthusiasts, including developments in car technology and special promotions.
