Press release from the City:

Mayor announces public information office arrival, departure

Mayor Tom Henry today released changes in the City of Fort Wayne’s Public Information Office. He announced the appointment of Liesl Marelli to the position of Public Information Officer. He also noted the resignation of Public Information Director Joe Fox.

Marelli served in the U.S. Army for nine years. During her military service, she served as a Public Affairs Officer. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Anthropology.

Fox’s resignation was precipitated by personal obligations and is effective immediately. He is returning to Massachusetts to be with his family at an important time for them. He expressed regret at not being able to fulfill his commitment to the Mayor and the administration, but at this time, his family takes top priority.

The Mayor has accepted Fox’s resignation.

The search process to fill the position of Public Information Director will be delineated in the near future.

  1. I am sorry that Joe has to head back East. I thought that he was an effective PIO, quite intelligent and very loyal to Mayor Henry. Joe, a connoisseur of a carefully mixed Martini, will be missed.
