Fort Wayne man sentenced for distribution and possession of child pornography

On October 1, 2026, Christopher Koogler was sentenced after pleading guilty to distribution, and possession of child pornography.

Fort Wayne Man Sentenced to 120 Months in Prison
For Distribution and Possession of Child Pornography

Fort Wayne, Indiana (October 5, 2026) – On October 1, 2026, Christopher Koogler, 28, of Fort Wayne, Indiana was sentenced by Chief Judge Holly A. Brady after pleading guilty to distribution, and possession of child pornography, announced United States Attorney Adam L. Mildred.

Koogler was sentenced to 120 months in prison to be followed by 10 years of supervised release. Restitution will be determined at a later date.

“Christopher Koogler will spend the next ten years in prison for his actions. These crimes require severe punishment to deter others from engaging in this heinous behavior. The U.S. Attorney’s Office will use every resource at our disposal to aggressively prosecute these offenders and get justice for their victims. This successful prosecution was made possible by the strong multi-agency partnership of Homeland Security Investigations, the Fort Wayne Police Department, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Northern Indiana,” said United States Attorney Adam L. Mildred.

“Child sexual exploitation destroys lives, and those who commit these crimes will be held accountable,” said HSI Chicago Special Agent in Charge Matthew Scarpino. “This sentence delivers justice for the victims and reflects the severity of the defendant’s conduct. HSI will continue to pursue offenders, protect children, and stand with our law enforcement partners against this abuse.”

This case was investigated by the Homeland Security Investigations with assistance from the Fort Wayne Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley J. Miller Lowery

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
