FWPD: Death Investigation, Grand and Harrison Streets

On August 18, 2026, at 0555 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding an unconscious adult male at the intersection of Grand Street and Harrison Street in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Fort Wayne Police Department incident Report Details/Summary:

On August 18, 2026, at approximately 5:55 a.m., the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding an unconscious adult male at the intersection of Grand Street and Harrison Street.

Officers arrived on scene and immediately began providing emergency medical treatment. Despite the lifesaving efforts of officers and medics, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Due to the circumstances surrounding the death, the Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Unit, Air Support Unit, and Crime Scene Unit responded to conduct a comprehensive death investigation.

Investigators are currently canvassing the area for surveillance and other video evidence. Anyone who may have information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department at (260) 427-1222, call Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-7867, or submit an anonymous tip through the P3 Tips app.

The investigation is being conducted with the assistance of the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
