Public Art Commission requests proposals for neighborhood mural
Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 18, 2026) – The City of Fort Wayne’s Public Art Commission is seeking proposals from artists to work collaboratively with Fairfield Terrace Belmont Neighborhood residents to create a public mural that will be installed at Restoration Center Church of God in Christ, 5522 McClellan St.
Interested applicants should review the request for proposals (RFP) on the Engage Fort Wayne website. Artists may also attend a question-and-answer session on Tuesday, August 25, 2-3 p.m. in the City’s Community Development conference room 324, suite 320, Citizens Square, 200 E. Berry St. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Monday, August 31.
The permanent mural is part of the Public Art Commission’s SHOUT-OUT program, which is designed to empower neighborhoods and develop and activate their unique identities through public art. The SHOUT-OUT program is funded by Public Art Giveback contributions that are managed by the Public Art Commission.
Local artist, media producer and filmmaker William Bryant Rozier serves as the project manager for this SHOUT-OUT initiative and will work with the selected artist to incorporate input and ideas from Fairfield Terrace Belmont residents.
The Fort Wayne Public Art Commission is a 13-member volunteer advisory body that governs the City of Fort Wayne’s Public Art Program, established in 2018. The goal of the Public Art Program, which is administered by Fort Wayne Community Development, is to enhance the visual environment and strengthen the positive reputation, brand and stature of Fort Wayne and its neighborhoods by promoting and integrating public art throughout the city.
