Fort Wayne Closes Out Suspended Game in the Win Column
Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 18, 2026) – The Fort Wayne TinCaps held on to win the completion of a suspended game 6-5 on Aug, 2, against the Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers affiliate) at Parkview Field.
Fort Wayne (47-65, 20-26) got 2 ⅔ innings from right-hander Isaiah Lowe as the first used pitcher following the resumption of the contest. Lowe allowed three runs on two hits before being lifted for righty Will Varmette, who collected his fourth save of the campaign.
Great Lakes (63-48, 27-20) got all three of their runs following the resumption in the seventh inning. Third baseman Mairo Martinus launched his second home run with the Loons this season, and first baseman Eduardo Guerrero laced a two-out single to cut the deficit to one.

Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 18, 2026) – The Fort Wayne TinCaps struck early in their 7-4 series-opening win at Parkview Field on Tuesday night against the Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers affiliate).
Fort Wayne (48-65, 21-26) plated five runs in the first two frames. Second baseman Rosman Verdugo came through with a two-run double in the first inning, his ninth two-bagger of the season. Center fielder Kasen Wells plated a pair in the second on a base hit through the right side of the infield, with Verdugo adding another RBI on a single of his own.
Shortstop Bradley Frye put together his first three-hit game in High-A, finishing the night 3-for-4. He brought home the final two runs of the night with a two-run double in the sixth frame. Right-hander Kannon Kemp (No. 13 Padres prospect) struck out a season-high six batters in four innings. Kemp did not walk anyone and allowed one run on six hits.
Great Lakes (63-49, 27-21) got a three-hit game from third baseman Mairo Martinus in the loss. The 21-year-old clobbered his second home run of the day and third of the season in the sixth inning. The three-run blast cut the deficit to one run at the time, and Martinus finished the night with four RBI.
First baseman Jose Meza and right fielder Jaron Elkins (No. 18 Dodgers prospect) each finished the evening with two hits. Meza’s double in the fourth inning was his 12th of the season, and he now has 22 multi-hit showings this year. Elkins has a hit in his last five games and has reached base safely in six straight.
