Community Harvest’s Receives $5,000 grant from The St. Joseph Community Health Foundation
Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 26, 2026) – Community Harvest is happy to announce that we have received a $5,000 grant from the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation, which will be used to support all our hunger relief effort programs.
The funds will help fund food bank programs including our Veteran’s program Hope for Heroes, Kids Backpack, SeniorPak, Community Cupboard, and more. As we see about 100 families per day in the Community Cupboard Food Pantry (including 25-35 Veterans) and thousands of families across all programs each week, this funding comes at a critical time as the need for families to receive food assistance has not shown signs of slowing down. The impact of this contribution extends far beyond programs. Funds help offset the costs of acquiring, transporting, storing, and distributing food to thousands of households each week. Whether helping stock pantry shelves, supplying fresh produce through Farm Wagon distributions, supporting weekend meals for children, or ensuring seniors have access to nutritious food, this gift will strengthen Community Harvest Food Bank’s mission of providing access to food and hope for neighbors throughout the region.
“The St. Joseph Community Health Foundation has been such a great partner and help to us at Community Harvest for years,” says Community Harvest President & CEO Carmen Cumberland. “ We couldn’t do what we do, and help those we help, without their support. The depth of gratitude doesn’t stop with us but extends far out to the thousands of people who will benefit from this and their families.”
Through our network of donors, retail partners, and distributors, we are able to pass out 12 million pounds of food per year. This food is passed out through multiple programs designed for seniors, families, children, and Military Veterans six days a week.
