Georgetown Blackhawk 2040 Neighborhood Plan kicks off

Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 5, 2026) – Residents living in northeast Fort Wayne are invited to share ideas that will shape the Georgetown Blackhawk 2040 Neighborhood Plan, which will establish a vision and make recommendations to help guide future investment in the area.

Community Development’s Department of Neighborhoods and the Georgetown Plan Committee have launched an online hub for the plan at www.GeorgetownPlan.com and are asking residents to visit the site and take a survey. The web page also includes information about the 39 neighborhoods in the area and a map where residents can indicate where they would like to see improvements.

Input from residents will also be gathered at two free events. Both events will feature free meals from Ziffle’s food truck while supplies last, free ice cream from the Oh Five Scoop Shop, and raffle prizes for free bowling and arcade games at Georgetown Entertainment. The events take place on the following days and times.

  • August 6, 6 to 8 p.m. at Kreager Park Taylor’s Dream playground, 7225 N. River Rd.
  • September 25, 4 to 6 p.m. at the Georgetown Library’s Back to School Bash, 6600 E. State Blvd.

Expected to be completed in fall 2027, Georgetown Blackhawk 2040 will address neighborhood topics such as economic development, housing, marketing, infrastructure and utilities, parks and recreation, transportation, parking, connectivity, public safety, and zoning and land use.
