Details/Summary:
At approximately 9:50 p.m. on May 7, 2026, the Fort Wayne Police Department received a report of a possible shooting in the 200 block of East Maple Grove Avenue. Patrol officers responded to the scene and located an active incident requiring further investigation.
Officers and detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. The FWPD Homicide Team, Crime Scene Unit, and Air Support Unit were requested to assist and are actively engaged in the investigation.

The FWPD Homicide Team is actively investigating a homicide involving an adult female who succumbed to her injury from an apparent gunshot wound. The identity of the victim will be released at later time by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
There is no current threat to public safety.
