On April 27, 2026, at 1459 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to an apartment in the 7900 block of Decatur Road after someone called police reporting some type of disturbance in a neighboring apartment.

Details/Summary:
On April 27, 2026, at 2:59pm, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to an apartment in the 7900 block of Decatur Rd after someone called police reporting some type of disturbance in a neighboring apartment. Officers arrived at the apartment in question and located an adult female and an adult male. The adult female was pronounced deceased on the scene by paramedics, and the adult male was taken to local hospital where he was determined to be in life-threatening condition.
At this time, it is unknown what took place inside the apartment that led to the death of the female or the injuries to the male. Their relationship to one another is also currently unknown, as is whether anyone else was present inside the apartment. However, investigators do not believe there is any threat to the public. The adult male at the hospital will be interviewed as soon as practical.
Detectives are currently canvassing the neighboring apartments, searching for any witnesses or video surveillance. Crime Scene technicians are searching for and collecting any evidence.
The identity of the decedent, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
