August 1 Deadline Nears
(INDIANAPOLIS, July 6, 2010) – Applications are still available for the 21st class of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series and can be obtained by contacting Anne Hathaway, Executive Director, at 317-536-6900, or by downloading the application from the Lugar Series website at www.lugarseries.org.
Applications must be received or postmarked no later than August 1, 2010, to be considered for the 2010-11 program that begins in October, 2010.
Founded in 1990 by Senator Richard Lugar, business woman Judy Singleton and Indiana State Senator Teresa Lubbers, the Lugar Series has successfully trained and promoted Hoosier women leaders for key elected and appointed positions. A total of 363 Hoosier women have graduated from the program.
The program has been duplicated successfully in twenty other states across the country and brings the total to over 1600 women that have been trained across the country. A nationwide expansion of the program is in place with 18 states participating thus far to educate, promote and publicize the accomplishments of GOP women.
Funds raised at an annual luncheon held each February are available for scholarships to cover the $250.00 participant fee for program participants if needed.
