The Allen County Coroner has identified Nyree K. Jones as the 32nd Allen County Homicide in 2025.
News release from the Allen County Coroner:
The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified and made notifications to the next of kin of the deceased individual that was found shot in the 3500 Block of South Lafayette Street, Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, at about 17:18 hours, Wednesday, October 22, 2025. He has been positively identified as Nyree K. Jones male, Black, age 17, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a shooting in the area and found Nyree K. Jones unresponsive. He was transported to a local hospital and later was pronounced deceased.
Nyree K. Jones’ Cause of Death is Gunshot Wound, and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Nyree K. Jones is the 32nd Homicide for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2025.
THe incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
