On August 5, 2022, at 1548 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at the OmniSource facility at 2511 Taylor Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1548 hours
On Scene: 1550 hours
Under Control: 1654 hours
Crews arrived and found smoke showing and employees evacuated out front. Fire crews ran attack hose lines and found a piece of machinery that was on fire. The fire was contained to the machinery and the sprinkler kept fire from spreading. Fire crews extinguished the fire, searched the building, and ventilated the structure. Fire crews overhauled the machinery and the area that had been on fire.
Fire crews took about hour to bring the incident under control due to the large size of the structure.
Fire Investigators arrived and completed the cause and origin.
