On June 23, 2022, at 0043 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire with people trapped in the 400 block of West Baker Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The first firefighters arrived on the scene and found a two-story residence with smoke coming from the second floor and an unresponsive person on the front porch. The crew pulled the victim to safety and began medical treatment. Other crews arrived and extinguished the fire on the second floor and searched for other victims which turned up negative. The occupant was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
The fire was under control in 12 minutes.
