Details/Summary:
On Saturday, 04/18/2020, at approximately 12:29 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Maysville Road and Stellhorn Road reference a vehicle crash with injuries. Officers arrived on scene and observed a full-size passenger van struck a tree. The female/adult driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The front seat male passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary information indicates the van was driving northbound on Maysville Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree. Investigators reported alcohol and excessive speed appear to be contributing factors in the crash.
Maysville Road will remain closed to all traffic between Stellhorn Road and Brickshire Parkway while Crash Investigators process the scene. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the identity and age of the victim.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
