Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 18, 2021) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire with several 9-1-1 calls on May 18, 2021, at 10:40 pm.
The first engine company arrived to find heavy fire involvement on the front porch of a single-story residence with an occupant standing outside. The fire was rapidly extinguished and a subsequent search of the entire structure for other occupants and pets revealed nothing. Most of the fire damage was contained to the front porch and front bedroom with smoke damage throughout the rest of the house.
The fire is still under investigation.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, Indiana Michigan Power, NIPSCO, and the City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement.
