What’s the best way to make a small meal satisfy your hunger like a jumbo sized combo? Just add herbs! Join “Herb Lady” and Advanced Master Gardener Louise Rennecker as she shows you how to start your own culinary herb garden at home. In this informative program she will cover the best kinds of herbs to grow in Indiana, how to harvest and save them, and then, most importantly, how using them in your cooking will help you get more flavor out of fewer calories. Each participant will also take home a sample herb plant to help get the garden started. Ages: 12+. Registration deadline: April 2. Fee: $5, Conservatory Member Fee: $3.Handmade Succulent Trough Workshop, Thursday, April 8, 6:00-7:30 pm

You will also learn about which succulents grow best here in Zone 5 and will take home a variety of potted succulents to plant in your trough once it has cured and dried. Finished troughs measure about 8″ x 6″ x 4″, a perfect size to easily take home. Once you’ve learned the secrets, though, you’ll be able to make your own troughs in whatever size fits your garden.
