Leaders break ground on 240-unit apartment complex in New Haven Great Lakes Capital to lead $56 million multi-family development
New Haven, Indiana (October 22, 2026) – The City of New Haven, in partnership with South Bend-based developer Great Lakes Capital, officially broke ground today on ‘The Lincoln,’ a landmark $56 million mixed-use development on South Maplecrest Road.
The project is located near Culver’s, spans nearly 30 acres, and will drastically expand modern, attainable living options within the community.
New Haven Mayor Steve McMichael says the project is a portion of the city’s long-term vision to provide a diverse collection of housing opportunities in New Haven.

“Breaking ground on The Lincoln marks an exciting new chapter for our community infrastructure,” McMichael said. “This development proactively meets the high demand for quality housing in our growth corridor while driving localized commercial opportunities that keep New Haven a vibrant place to live, work and play.”
Once finished, the site will feature more than 240 multi-family housing units across multiple residential buildings, anchored by a state-of-the-art community clubhouse with outdoor amenities designed to enrich neighborhood lifestyle and connectivity.
In addition to high-quality residential spaces, the master plan preserves premier commercial lots to catalyze future retail, dining and localized business investments.
Great Lakes Capital expects to start leasing its first building in September 2027.
