On October 9, 2026, at 0951 hours, Lorrina Sargent was arrested in connection with the murder of Kelvin Andre Topps.

On July 14, 2026, at approximately 11:56 p.m., Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the area of 1900 Hillside Ave. and 1400 St. Joseph Blvd. regarding a shooting investigation.
Officers arrived and located an adult male at each location suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the men died from his injuries. Detectives with the FWPD Homicide Unit responded and conducted a criminal investigation.
During the investigation, FWPD Homicide Detectives identified Lorrina Sargent, 62 years old, as a suspect in the shooting. On Friday, October 9, 2026, at approximately 9:51 a.m. Lorrina Sargent was arrested in connection with the murder. The Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Unit, working in conjunction with the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, located Ms. Sargent in the 700 block of Anderson Ave., and she was taken into custody and preliminarily charged with Felony Murder and Burglary.
