On October 4, 2026, at 0523 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 1400 block of Fletcher Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 0623 hours
On Scene: 0627 hours
Under Control: 0637 hours
A passing motorist had spotted the rear of the house on fire and called 9-1-1. Fort Wayne Fire Department Engine 1 was the first unit to arrive on the scene and deployed a hose line to aggressively attack the fire. FWFD Engine 9 arrived on the scene and performed a search of the home. Other units arrived and assisted with overhaul and clearing smoke from the home.
The home was determined to be vacant at the time.
Fire Investigators are on the scene to determine a cause.
No firefighters were injured battling the fire and the home had no working smoke detectors.
