Fort Wayne Police Department incident Report Details/Summary:
On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at approximately 20:56 hours, Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 800 block of Buchanan Street regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds who were pronounced deceased. Another adult male was located nearby suffering serious injuries from gunshot wound(s). Detectives with the Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Unit responded and conducted a thorough criminal investigation. During the investigation, Gary Morris III was identified as a suspect in the shooting, and investigators learned Morris III was in Toledo, Ohio.
On September 16, 2026, through a combined effort by the FWPD Homicide Unit and the United States Marshals Service, Investigators successfully located Morris III, and police took him into custody in Toledo, Ohio.
