The Allen County Coroner has identified Juron Sharell Stapleton as the 24th Allen County Homicide and Tavion Lashawn Hamlet as the 25th Allen County Homicides in 2026.
News release from the Allen County Coroner:
The autopsies have been completed, and notification has been made to the next of kin for the individuals found deceased in the 800 block of Buchannan Street, in Fort Wayne, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at approximately 21:04 hours. The decedents were pronounced deceased by the Fort Wayne Fire Department.
Identified are Juron Sharell Stapleton, a male, Black 21 years of age and Tavion Lashawn Hamlet, a male, Black, 25 years of age, both are from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Juron Sharell Stapleton’s Cause of Death has been determined to be Gunshot Wound, and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Juron Sharell Stapleton is the 24th Homicide for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2026.
Tavion Lashawn Hamlet’s Cause of Death has been determined to be Gunshot Wounds, and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Tavion Lashawn Hamlet is the 25th Homicide for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2026.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
