Foellinger Foundation Awards Special Opportunity and Capacity Building Grants to Support Allen County Nonprofits
Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 8, 2026) – Foellinger Foundation’s Board of Directors has approved three Special Opportunity grants totaling $218,000 to support initiatives benefiting Allen County residents.
Recipients include:
- Brightpoint
- Fort Wayne Museum of Art
- Women’s Fund of Greater Fort Wayne
Special Opportunity grants allow Foellinger Foundation to respond to unique, mission-aligned opportunities that fall outside the Foundation’s established grant programs. These grants are considered foundation-invited and are not part of an open application process.
“Foellinger Foundation’s established grant programs provide a strong framework for our investments in Allen County, but occasionally an opportunity emerges that warrants special consideration,” said Sarah Strimmenos, Foellinger Foundation President and CEO. “These grants allow the Board to thoughtfully respond to opportunities that advance the Foundation’s mission, honor the Foellinger family’s legacy, and benefit our community.”
Seven Capacity Building grants totaling $57,350 were awarded to support board-driven initiatives that enhance an organization’s financial sustainability, governance, and operational effectiveness. These grants help nonprofits strengthen leadership and long-term strategy.
