FWPD Seeks Community Input Through Public Branding Survey
Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 1, 2026) – The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking residents to share their opinions through a new community survey available on Engage Fort Wayne.
The survey is designed to help FWPD better understand how the department is currently viewed by the community, what residents expect from their police department, and which qualities should guide the department’s future communications and public identity.
Questions address topics such as trust, transparency, professionalism, community engagement, public-safety priorities, and how residents prefer to receive information from FWPD.
“Before we determine where we want to go, we need an honest understanding of where we are today,” said Chief Paul Smith. “The feedback we receive will help us identify what the community values, where we are meeting expectations, and where we have opportunities to improve.”
Responses will be used to establish a baseline for FWPD’s branding and communications efforts. The survey is voluntary, and responses will be reviewed in aggregate.
Fort Wayne residents are encouraged to participate by visiting Engage Fort Wayne.
The survey will remain open through September 30th, 2026.
