Attendees will have an opportunity to speak during a public comment period

Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 17, 2026) – Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker today announced she will host a public forum on the proposed Anchor Resource Center.

The forum will be held from 5:30 -7:00 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24 in the Calhoun Ballroom on the second floor at the Grand Wayne Center, 120 W. Jefferson Blvd.

Mayor Tucker and Chief of Staff Andrew Downs will lead the forum. It’s the City Administration’s hope that all nine members of City Council will attend.

Attendees will have an opportunity to speak during a public comment period. Individuals who do speak should be respectful and not use inappropriate language.

An ASL interpreter will be present at the meeting.

The forum will be livestreamed at youtube.com/@FortWayneIND.

The forum is being held in addition to several hundred residents submitting questions that were answered on the City of Fort Wayne’s Engage website. Over a hundred residents have also spoken on this topic at previous City Council meetings.

“Addressing the homelessness challenge is vital as we work to help individuals and families in need. The plan for the Anchor Resource Center is the right plan in the right place, and we need City Council’s support,” said Mayor Tucker. “I encourage residents to attend to share their thoughts and assist us in our efforts to move Fort Wayne forward in a positive direction.”
