Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control is hoping to reach 400 adoptions this month!
Fort Wayne, Indiana (July 31, 2026) – Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control is ready to celebrate reaching 400 adoptions in July. To do it, they need just 31 adoptions today. This is very possible with almost 90 adoptable animals currently waiting for new homes.
During the summer months an influx of cats, and especially kittens is common. Right now, there are still nearly 300 kittens and even puppies in foster waiting to come into the shelter when they are old enough. New animals are arriving daily.
Over the last week there have been almost 200 intakes into the shelter. Thankfully some have been adopted, transferred to other rescues, or reclaimed. To help make space the shelter will offer fee-waived cat and kitten adoptions through Saturday, August 1st.
If you cannot make it to the shelter today, FWACC will be open this Saturday from 9 am -12 noon for adoptions, or you can visit one of the 11 offsite adoption locations to meet adoptable cats and kittens. Check out the website to find the location of your next furry friend.
