Today, the City of Fort Wayne announced the inaugural Opioid Settlement Funds Community Convening — Building Connection.

City to host free opioid settlement funds community convening
Building Connection. Strengthening Practice. Saving Lives. | A Free Convening for Medical Providers, Community Organizations, and Residents Across Fort WayneFort Wayne, Indiana (July 28, 2026) – The City of Fort Wayne today announced the inaugural Opioid Settlement Funds Community Convening — Building Connection. Strengthening Practice. Saving Lives. This free, open-to-the-public event is designed to bring together the people and organizations working on the front lines of the opioid (substance use) and overdose crisis in Fort Wayne.
The convening will be held on Wednesday, July 29 from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Allen County Public Library in downtown Fort Wayne. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost to attendees. Registration opens at 9 a.m. if not completed earlier.
“This convening is an opportunity to bring the community together, not just to report on how settlement dollars are being used, but to learn from one another, build relationships, and strengthen our collective ability to save lives,” said Mayor Sharon Tucker. “We believe that no single organization can address this crisis alone. When we work together, we are stronger.”

The Fort Wayne Opioid Settlement Funds represent the City’s share of the state of Indiana’s award from a nationwide legal settlement with opioid manufacturers and distributors. Administered by the City of Fort Wayne, these funds are being invested in evidence-based strategies across prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery to address the impact of opioid use disorder in our community.
