Road closures and traffic restrictions expected next week for northeast Fort Wayne resurfacing project
Fort Wayne, Indiana (July 10, 2026) – API Construction will begin work on the Northeast Resurface package starting Monday, resulting in several significant road closures and traffic restrictions throughout the week. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, expect delays, and avoid affected areas when possible.
Monday, July 13, 2026 – Wheelock Road & Stellhorn Road Intersection
- Wheelock Road will be fully closed at the intersection with Stellhorn Road.
- Stellhorn Road will remain open with eastbound and westbound traffic maintained through the intersection.
Tuesday, July 14, 2026 – St. Joe Center Road at Wheelock Road Intersection
- The south leg of Wheelock Road will be fully closed.
- Traffic will be directed south toward Stellhorn Road to navigate the closure.
Wednesday, July 15, 2026 – St. Joe Center Road at Wheelock oad Intersection
- Lane restrictions will be in place on St. Joe Center Road.
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane under flagging operations.
- Significant delays of 15+ minutes are expected; drivers are strongly advised to avoid the area if possible.
