Traffic Alert: Ardmore Avenue Lane Restriction
Fort Wayne, Indiana (July 2, 2026) – As progress continues on the Westwood-Fairway Water Main Replacement Project, a lane restriction will be coming to Ardmore Avenue.
Beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, the far west southbound lane of Ardmore Avenue will be closed along the block between West Jefferson Boulevard and North Washington Road.
Crews will install a temporary pipe connection used to flush and test the new water pipe before it is placed into service. The testing process requires multiple water samples over several days, so the lane restriction is expected to last at least one week.
The Westwood-Fairway Water Main Replacement Project addresses aging pipes along West Jefferson Boulevard and North Washington Road that have experienced numerous breaks. The project is part of City Utilities’ effort to replace 70 miles of aging water main over the next five years.
