On Monday, June 15, 2026, at approximately 5:19 p.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hobson Road and Vance Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located three heavily damaged vehicles in the intersection, one being on its top.
Preliminary investigation indicates that one of the vehicles was traveling eastbound on Vance Avenue when it disregarded the red traffic signal, striking another vehicle that was traveling northbound on Hobson Road. This collision struck the third vehicle that was sitting at the traffic light. Four individuals were injured and transported to a local hospital, two being juveniles. One juvenile is in life threatening condition and one in critical condition at this time.
Due to the nature of the injuries sustained in the collision, the FWPD Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) was notified and has assumed responsibility for the investigation. The FWPD Air Support Unit (ASU) is also assisting at the scene. All drivers are cooperating with the investigation at this time.
The intersection of Hobson Road and Vance Avenue will remain closed while investigators process the scene.
