
On June 7, 2026, at 0240 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department was dispatched to the intersection of South Hanna and Mc Kee Streets on a report of a single-vehicle collision with a tree.

Details/Summary:
Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) were dispatched to the intersection of S. Hanna Street and Mc Kee [sic] Street on a report of a single-vehicle crash into a tree. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle with severe front-end damage against a tree on Mc Kee [sic] Street, east of S. Hanna. Medics transported the adult male driver and passenger to a local hospital, where medical staff determined the passenger had sustained minor injuries and the driver had life-threatening injuries.
The Fort Wayne Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) and the Air Support Unit (ASU) responded to the scene to continue the investigation. FACT investigators are interviewing witnesses and searching for any available video evidence in the area. ASU is documenting the scene through aerial photography. Preliminary information indicates that speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD FACT team.
