City of Fort Wayne Indiana recognized at national event

Twelve U.S. mayors, including Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker, were recognized today for their local energy and climate protection programs, with each winning a 2026 Mayors’ Climate Protection Award.

Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 4, 2026) – Twelve U.S. mayors, including Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker, were recognized today for their local energy and climate protection programs, with each winning a 2026 Mayors’ Climate Protection Award.

Fort Wayne was honored for the Department of Neighborhoods’ efforts with the Neighborhood Heat Mapping project, and the work they’ve done in the East Central neighborhood.

The recognitions were announced at the opening day of the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ 94th Annual Meeting.
